Do their salaries go down to 1 million when the season starts. For some reason the last player I could remember we did this with was Jermaine Dye and he went down to 1 million because he didn't have a contract. I'm just curious what the ruling on this would be.

What happened with Kyle Lohse and Brian Wilson last year? I think if we are enforcing the previous contract rule in the off-season the same should apply in-season but who am i?

If I remember right their previous years salary locks so whatever Drew or Morales made in 2013 is what you are paying them in 2014 basically and then next offseason any change would be implemented.

Surely if they sign a contract in late april or after you can adjust their salary. Maybe make it so the lesser of the two salaries is counted on in-season MLB free agent signings

Their salary changes immediately upon signing a new contract, technically they don't have a 2014 contract yet. But Steve is right in that they stay at their 2013 salary no until they sign a new contract.

so if their contract goes up in value and you are then over cap what are your options.
