The only problem I have with K's is that you could be a great team and much better then this team your playing... But the team your playing could only have 4 starters... Although you are the much better team your gonna loose that CAT.

We are not taking out strikeouts for hitters no matter what. Im kind of against adding categories at all.

Quick question - when we do the draft, can we draft players that were drafted in previous years but aren't on anyone's rosters or do they hvae to be from the 2010 draft class ?

They have to be in the 2010 class. If they were drafted in previous years and arent on anyones roster wouldnt that just mean they are available minor leaguers and you can claim them? BTW the draft starts October 9th at 9:00 PM if I'm not mistaken. If you want to double check take a look at the draft board, round 1, at the top there is a description of when the draft is and how it will work.

Waiver Wire Idea: I think it would be pretty cool if we could do a thing like a waiver wire.
So say you have a player like Carlos Zambrano on your team and you are a playoff team. So you could put him in this place that says waiver wire and he has to be left there for 48 hours. If someone wants to claim him then they can private message Dodgers saying they want to claim him. The order would be like the worst team gets first priorities and the best gets last. If someone claims him they would get him and have to pay his full salary. While the origanal team is released of him. If no one claims him then he should be elgible to be in trade negotiations. If someone claims him then team that placed him on the waiver wire should have 24 hours after the claim to pull him back.
Just puting an idea out there. I think it is a pretty good one and would make the league funner for playoff teams.

I like the idea. Go for it. But where would we post it? Like in reviewed trades we post: Place Player A on waivers. Then 48 hours later we can trade him? But then the other team would have to put all there players they want to trade on waivers to.
Also we would be able to claim them back if someone else does?

teams would have 48 hours to claim him claims work in the following way: -any team may claim the player -if a team from the same league as the player claims the player and a team from the other league claims him, the team from the same league gets to discuss a trade with owner of the player -if two teams from the same league claim the player, the team with the worst record gets to discuss a trade with owner -once the 48 hours are up, the team that got the wining claim and the owner of the player has 24 hours to come up with a trade
i read up on waiver trades a few weeks ago and this is the way they do it in the MLB plus, i would like to suggest a player can only be placed on waivers only once, so that owners don't put him a player on waivers over and over until he is traded

I like those rules, especially that last paragraph you snuck in there.

so, let me get my little head around this ... if I put a guy on waivers and you claim him, do we still need to agree on a trade or do you just get him ?

have to agree on a trade. Or you can just pull him back if you can't find a trade

next issue, have we decided what happens with the salaries of the FA guys we bid for last year ?
for example, I bought Xavier Nady for $15M (yay for me) and he was signed to a 1 year contract. What is his salary next year ?

pretty sure his contract is what he makes in real life. By year. so if he signs a 5 year 20 mil contract for example. You pay 4 mil..... someone correct me if I am wrong.

yeah, we had a bidding frenzy before the season and people like him got signed to mega contracts ... they were to stay on whatever dolars they got bid up to for however long they signed for. Luckily for me he only signed for 1 year but I'm not sure if his salary reverts back to his real amount or what.

We think the best way to handle this "trading" past the deadline is to permit all teams in the playoffs to trade among themselves only, just as teams that did not make the playoffs can trade only among themselves. All this waiver stuff is way to complicated and seems to circumvent the deadline. If teams in the playoffs can trade among themselves, they will not be taking advantage of anyone. None of the non-playoff teams will be allowed to do deals that could skew the playoffs. Just a thought. Seems more balanced this way, plus it gives both the playoff clubs and the non-playoff clubs a way to stay active during these last weeks of the season, a time when teams can lose their interest level.

Yes I like that idea cigar city, playoff teams can trade with each other and non playoff teams can trade with each other. All this waiver wire stuff is going to be to complicated.

now I am confused, so I can only trade with other playoff teams and non playoff teams can trade with other non-playoff teams. Why have a trade deadline then if we can all just keep trading ?
