What happens with a player on a TPB deal who has a club option picked up?
Player A is on a MLB contract paying $2M in 2016 and a $2M club option in 2017.
Player A was bid on after signing this contract and is owned on a 500k TBP deal.
Player A has his club option excercised for 2017 at 2017 as negotiated in his original contract.
In 2017 what is Player A's salay for cap purposes? 500k TPB or $2M club option value?

The TPB price would still stand.
I believe there are some circumstances where the real life option is declined and the player re-signs later. In that circumstance the player's real life contract would be the price in effect for you.

Chris is right. It's not a new contract, so the TPB price is the correct one.
