Yah, I was going to say if we were trying to be true to MLB (not saying that's ideal) we would drastically reduce roster sizes. The 40 man is ALL teams can protect (except for players under 4/5 years) so that it's harder to keep maybes around forever and is designed to do exactly what we're talking about here -- pop out fringe players on deep teams to be rule 5ed. We have another 60 spots of minor league stashes so there's almost none of that pressure.
I think focusing on tanking is trying to solve the wrong problem by pursuing teams who are doing basically the only option they currently have to get out of the basement instead of giving them an alternative with the scraps that are at the bottom of 40's. I'll take more parity in a league over fairness to the rich any day (uh oh, my pinko commie sympathies are showing...)
