Yeah but we always hit a lull heading into the spring. I think pushing it back kind of lets things settle down from playoffs and the end of the season. Hit a small break, then draft, small break, spring training.

I would prefer to start the draft a week or so after the World Series is over. It's ok to pause for a few days over each holiday or whatever. I personally have invested a lot of assets into the draft and would like to start sooner rather than later.

Well, we have always drafted sometime in late October/early November, so we see no reason not to do so again this year. We can, of course, pause the draft (as we usually do) for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, allowing GMs to pick or not without being skipped or auto-picked.
That being said, we also like a January Draft. Gives everyone more time to research.

I'm still in favour of mid November, especially considering how long it takes to get the full 300 picks done

You're right. The draft always takes forever -- even with skips and auto-picks. No harm in getting underway early; it's still gonna drag on for a long time.

Correct, last year we started November 15th and didn't finish until February 8th, almost a full 3 months. If we wait until the new year to draft I doubt we will finish the draft before opening day.

I agree with cardinals. I think you have to start the draft in early to mid november to have it completed by the middle of february for spring training.

Yep, unless we are much more agressive on the auto picks but really, what is the rush. It is a nice long offseason, I like the way the drafts have played out in the past personally. I have a good feeling that we will have more interested owners in drafting this year and makes things more interesting and move quicker too.

Alright. I arbitrarily say we should start November 9th. Any objections?

Awesome, the first 30 rounds of real life picks have been posted already, now for the fun part, trying to track down who owns all the picks ...

No one else other than Marlins needs to bother much in Rd #1.

I have a spreadsheet of who the actual owners are. I'll just need to update it with the trades that haven't been processed. I'll get to it... eventually... I swear...

Didn't get a chance to check back in, but the only owner who responded to my email warning them about inactivity was Justin (Phillies) and he said that he is dropping out.
Looks like Cleveland showed back up, so that's one less, but we still need to replace:
Nationals Pirates Angels Mets Phillies

Yep, go ahead and find new owners. If D'backs has sent them emails and heard nothing then they are out.

Thanks for bringing in quality owners Reds, much appreciated. Let us know when you have shaken all your trees and then Tim can post on minorleagueball (think it was Tim that has done this) where we have had good luck getting good owners as well. Thanks again everyone for pitching in, I know I haven't been as hands on as I used to be lately. Not likely to let up either as my daughter is due this month and I'm still working 2 jobs.
