Proposed new rule :
Any players dropped after the start of the TPB Playoffs may not be bid on or claimed by any team until the conclusion of the TPB playoffs.
As it currently stands, our rules only prohibit playoff teams from making trades after the trade deadline. A playoff team can bid on, win and add a free agent during the playoffs.
Please vote, if you have any questions please ask.

M's - I disagree only because allowing claims would penalize playoff teams since non-playoff teams could more easily create open roster spots via end of season cuts.
A secondary benefit is that it allows us to catch up on processing transactions.

Whilst we haven’t had everyone vote, I think we’ve waited long enough for people to have their say. More than half the owners have voted in favour so the new rule passes.
The new rule to be incorporated into our existing rules will read :
“Any players dropped after the start of the TPB Playoffs may not be bid on or claimed by any team until the conclusion of the TPB playoffs.”
Therefore :
1. From the first pitch in tomorrow’s games (when the playoffs officially start), playoff teams can only use the players on their current rosters in playoffs. For example, you may still promote someone from your minors but your rosters are effectively frozen until you are eliminated or win the whole thing.
2. Any player that is released from a TPB franchise, from the start of our playoffs (major or minor leaguer) cannot be bid on until the end of the regular season in real life (ie: end of our playoffs).
3. Players not currently on a TPB roster can be claimed or bid on as per normal process but cannot be used in playoffs.
4. Trades can continue as per normal, playoff teams can make trades but these trades will not be processed until after that playoff team has been eliminated (or the playoffs are over).
I think this covers it. Any questions please ask.
Cheers,
Andrew

Can Poach bids be made during the playoffs? Yes, absolutely But you can't poach players off of playoff teams, correct? For example, I have one of my guys being poached right now, and the only way I can clear a spot for him is to release someone. I know for a fact I could get a pick for Max Stassi or Austin Barnes, but if I trade one to clear a spot, that trade won't process until the end of the playoffs (14 days), at which point it'll be 11 days after the 72-hour clock on my poached player runs out. See how stupid that sounds? I'm not allowed to get value that I know for a fact I could get for one of my players? I can only drop them and get nothing? That's not right at all. I must be missing something. I don't understand why playoffs is any different to regular season ?
Playoff teams can still trade, they only get processed after their season is over. Using the above example, if Dan was to trade Stassi or Barnes, opening up a spot for the player being poached, I would consider that poach invalid then as Dan has made the required move to clear the spot (albeit it doesn't formally get processed until after the world series).
The only difference to the regular season is the timing of the processing of the trade.
Playoff teams can still be subject to poach bids, they just need to make trades or moves 'to be processed after playoff exit'.

We do need to review the poach rule in the offfseason though.
