Seeing as all pickups/bids of players dropped by teams since the start of the playoffs has been suspended, it gave me the thought. What if after the 3 day drop window at the end of the WS, we take another week to allow the league to update rosters/transactions so we can make sure we're current before all the bidding and pickups begin? This would allow us to add the 5M cap, get rid of penalties, and see where teams are really at, rather than waiting all offsesason. Allow us to get ahead of the curve so to speak.

Everyone should have a PM saying the below but I'll post it here too just so there is no confusion. If you have a question, please ask.
Ok, so the season ends Sunday October 1st (last game).
Tyler has come up with a fantastic idea which we will adopt.
Free Agent bidding on released players is currently frozen. We will keep them frozen with first bids allowed 8pm EST on Sunday October 8th.
World Series teams have a 72 hour window to release players ‘during season’ ending roughly midnight on October 4, effectively avoiding any penalty for dropping the player if they owned him less than the full season.
Before any team may bid, they must : 1. have updated their roster with 2018 salaries where known, 2. process any trades made during the playoffs that may not have been processed 3. add the $5M Cap Christmas present each team receives this year and 4. add their 2018 IFA allowance.
IFA allowance is to be allocated as follows :
2018 IFA $
Philadelphia Phillies - 10m Tampa Bay Rays - 9.8m Baltimore Orioles - 9.6m San Francisco Giants - 9.4m Atlanta Braves - 9.2m Cincinnati Reds - 9.0m New York Mets - 8.8m Texas Rangers - 8.6m Oakland A's - 8.4m Toronto BlueJays - 8.2m Chicago Cubs - 8.0m San Diego Padres - 7.8m Minnesota Twins - 7.6m Los AngelesAngels - 7.4m Houston Astros - 7.2m Arizona DiamondBacks - 7.0m New York Yankees - 6.8m Colorado Rockies - 6.6m Washington Nationals - 6.4m Cleveland Indians - 6.2m Detroit Tigers - 6.0m Kansas City Royals - 5.8m St. Louis Cardinals - 5.6m Pittsburgh Pirates - 5.4m Seattle Mariners - 5.2m Boston Red Sox - 5.0m Los Angeles Dodgers - 4.8m Chicago White Sox - 4.6m Milwaukee Brewers - 4.4m Miami Marlins - 4.2m
IF YOU HAVE NOT UPDATED YOUR ROSTER WITH 2018 SALARIES YOU MAY NOT BID ON FREE AGENTS.
Enjoy,
Andrew

Maybe, we should fill the Houston spot before opening the bidding as to not put that team further behind.

Also a good idea. Probably could start working on most roster updates now honestly

Is Tim gonna be around?
Because any pick movement in Trades isn't even close to updated and he knows where the last updates are on the Draft Pick Document.

Just curious, are we still thinking a 1 week hold on bids on released players at the end of the season? Everything is up to date. I'll just need to add 5M to each team and add the IFA allotment.

I think it still should be a week break.

I think it still should be a week break. I'm hoping this doesn't expand any further than a week.

I think we set one week as we have three days for World Series teams to finalise their drops and then a couple of days before chaos reigns supreme.

it will also give the new owner time to get acclimated to the league
