Hi All,
As an Executive we have a new rule for you :
If a player has been AWOL more than one calendar year, his contract automatically defaults to League Minimum AWOL is not signed in Korea or Japan, AWOL is not injured - TJ, etc. If a player has been a MLB Free Agent for one full season he qualifies as AWOL.
We use Danny Salazar as our example. He became a Free agent November 4, 2019. Did not sign & play in 2020 and therefore is considered 'AWOL' and can be listed at league minimum $500K contract (denoted as a TPB contract) which is overridden/superceeded if/when he signs his next contract. This player may be placed on MILB roster if the owner wishes but, assuming he has exceeded rookie limits, becomes poachable as soon as he is placed on a new real life MLB Active roster (not just signed and placed on 40 man).
Please ask if you are unsure.
Cheers,
Andrew
