I claimed R. J. Dobavich today as he was a free agent in Fantrax but is on Cleveland's Proboards roster. He was drafted by Cleveland in Nov but never put on their Fantrax roster as far as I can tell. My thinking is that this falls under the "Roster Integrity" rule we put in place beginning 6/13. Based on the Integrity thread, it didn't seem like I needed to go through the Poaching process.
I'm not super interested in screwing the Indians out of a player. Ultimately, if the league decides the player goes to Cleveland or needs to go through poach process, I will comply with no issues. Figured it was a chance to test drive the rule.

Ok so first off no harm to foul to you Yankees, being active and following the rules.
But this is exactly the potential issue with this new crackdown on Fantrax rosters that doesn't seem to have been addressed in the implementation. This is not an abandoned player or someone who was picked up ages ago and then never added to a roster. This is a fourth-round pick from last year who doesn't even need to be on the 60-man yet.
He was almost certainly not in the database right away, and then added...when? I don't know. Could have been three days ago, could have been over the summer. Maybe Indians didn't check his roster after the warning or maybe Fantrax just woke up this week, as happens. There are plenty of guys from the 2020 draft who are not in the database but will be added at some point during the season. It does not seem reasonable that we have to keep checking them continually to see if they need to be picked up on Fantrax or else can be nabbed (not really poached as that's only for guys who have been called up which is a lot more cut and dry an issue -- but still a mess).
I'm not sure what else to do except make it similar to poaching -- if you find one of these guys, inform the team and they have 48 hours to add them on Fantrax or cut them loose. Otherwise, we need some rolling deadlines and a way of confirming that a player was available to be added at the previous deadline but you didn't. And even that makes for an ugly situation where without a list or set way of dealing with them, it pays for teams to go through every recent draftee manually looking for scraps who have recently been added to the pool.

We’re going to pause that rule until the off-season then yes, we’ll work something out.
Fantrax randomly adding players here and there makes the new rule untenable in my eyes (not without major changes),

Are all the moves that occurred going to be retracted until the off season decision? There were a few claims.

Thanks for reviewing. I'm fine with giving the player back to the Indians. My goal is really to get a rule in place we can all live with because I like to use Fantrax as a tool when trolling for players. I would suggest that if the player isn't on Fantrax then the team should place that player on the "Not on Fantrax" thread. Then there is a record that the manager is paying attention. I did that with anyone I drafted who wasn't on Fantrax yet - not hard. If they're not on Fantrax roster and not on the thread, then they're fair game. I've said my piece. I'll send Dabovich to the Indians in a trade offer for no return
