Pre-arb players repricing from TPB deals

As far as I can tell, pre-arb players on TPB deals reprice when they sign their new 1 year 500k pre-arb deals in March.  There seems to be some confusion around this in the chatbox.  Here is an example where this happened in 2016.

It's a somewhat rare scenario, but his will impact O'Hearn (5M TPB) and Ohtani ($83M TPB) this year (maybe others, but those 2 immediately come to mind).

How about James Paxton? He was 5M until his first Arbitration. I know that for a fact

I've seen several references to Paxton being treated like an IFA under the old system. Not sure if that could be why he stayed at 5M (since he presumably wasn't bought out when the systems changed over)

Hi all, just for clarification, pre-arb contracts are new contracts and we have always treated them that way.

We use Cot's for our salaries and it shows players having signed a 1 year deal pre-arb.

I hope this helps clarify the situation.
