I read somewhere that we have 3 DL spots to use on our roster. However ESPN only lets us use 2. Which one is it? We have 3 DL slots. We implemented this though after the season started and we didn't want to fiddle with ESPN and jack something up. Basically if you need to you can drop your DL guy on your roster if you have a third and pick him back up if/when he comes off the DL. No one will pick him up obviously since all roster transactions are done on proboards.

This is not a question ... just a general comment ...
Phillies, STOP WINNING.
In the last 2 weeks you have 27-5 or something like that. Your first round pick (which I own) has gone from pick 9 to pick 13 and I am not at all impressed.
Stop winning ...

Hey, silly question #243 from me, with this being our last week of "Regular season", are we having the trade deadline at the end of this week like last year for those teams in the playoffs ?

I was wondering how long we will expand rosters by 10 minor leaguers. Next year we could just add 5 and be at 50. 50 players multiplied by 30 teams would be 1500 players and thats just in the minors. There arent even 1500 prospects in the bigs so we could just permantly keep the limit at 50 and people would just have to cut more people after the draft or we could start making the draft 5 rounds so you dont have to cut so many people?

I vote we expand to 50 as suggested at All Star break next year.
I also think we keep the draft at 10 rounds, max 13 picks to be trimmed at All Star break. That way we draft guys, watch them for 6 months then decide which ones to roll into minors and cut the rest.

Then just keep it at 50 and people will just have to figure out more cuts in future years?

Yeah, I think so. Players will retire and spects will be cut to make room for the latest draft picks. I like the rookie roster and each year at all star break we either find room for them on our MiLB squads or release them.

Being a lover of prospects I'm also more than happy to increase the size of MiLB squad each year to include the latest group of draftees.

We support the idea of keeping our Rookie Draft players each season and we aren't concerned with roster sizes. Maybe a cap on the number we keep could be set at some time, but for now we like to add the rookies rather than cap the rosters.

I'm in favor of keeping it at 50 or so. I know you like finding as many obscure prospects as you can and claiming they're the next big thing, but really, not many of the prospects on minors will make an impact in majors, or even make it in some cases. 50 is reasonable

I think we expan it until it gets to the point of being redicolous especially when u think about ifa's which I think we need to fix that system also

I actually think we should have an International Free Agent draft after our normal draft. Either that or incorporate the IFAs into the normal draft.
I have never managed to get comfortable with the bidding on IFAs and the fact that you then need to carry their salary for up to 6-8 years.
I prefer the idea of incorporating them into our normal draft. I guess it's a little irrelevant for this year but maybe next year we try it ?

now, as per usual I have a question.
For those of us in the playoffs, if we agree on a trade with a team we can post it and have it voted on but it doesn't process until we either win it all or are knocked out of the playoffs.
Is that correct ?

This is not actually a question, more a statement ... I was looking through the Master list looking for someone and noticed that Jacob Thompson (P/TB) is owned by two different teams. He is listed as owned by ATL and SAN.

Well the Padres draft Jake Thompson (P/TB) and it looks like the Braves own Jacob Thompson (RHP/ATL) which makes sense since he owns about every braves spect.
